  1. I’m trying to figure out what my best option is. I currently have an iPad Pro, which I would like to use because it’s a much larger screen then my Android tablet. I have two cameras, the Canon T2i and a Sony A6000, both with the standard lens that came with the cameras. My primary concern is the lighting, as I don’t know much about it. The photo booth will be outside in an open space, however it is going to be at night, with dim lighting because it is for a Halloween party. I’m not sure what type of lighting/diffusers I should get. Any advice, suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

    • The Sony isn’t compatible, so the T2i & Android tablet is your best bet. As for lighting, if looking to purchase something inexpensive, I’d suggest a basic studio flash with modeling light and a shoot-through umbrella for a diffuser

  2. Hi Greg!
Is possible to store the pictures on a SD card in the tablet instead of the internal storage?
    This would be very nice!

  3. Hi,

Can someone advise me in the best way (if at all possible) I can go about connecting a Mitsubishi CP-D70DW Printer for this software. I currently run a photo booth with a program called social booth, though this software is professional and purpose built for professional photo booths I have found it slow to render video (on both i3 and i5 processors) and I want to compare this andriod app on my tablet, but the first hurdle is to be able to print to a professional Mitsubishi sublimation printer – I have spoken to mitsubishi but they do not have drivers for andriod – the printer is usb only (no wifi connectiverty). I would appreciate anyone who can advise on this issue.

    Thank you

    Dave

    • Hi Dave, SLR Booth won’t be able to talk to your printer over USB (as you mention it needs drivers that Mitsubishi doesn’t supply), however you do have the option of sharing it over the network using a laptop.

  4. Hello,

I’m having troubles connecting my Canon EOS 40D to my Samsung Table S. When I launch the app, I get the “Unable to connect to camera” error. It says no compatible camera found but all my cable are properly connected.

    I have already:
    *close out the app
    *restarted tablet and camera
    *updated the app
Any suggestions on what I can try next? I would really appreciate it!

  5. Hi Greg,
using a Bluetooth-trigger works if I’m in the capture screen and in the review screen. While in the gallery and pressing the trigger button, it is increasing the volume (and showing this on the screen) instead of going back to the capture screen. Would be great, if this could be fixed!

  6. I am having issues with the app. I have been using the app with all my equipment and everything was working fine, but now every time i select my template and take the picture the app crashes. I have uninstalled it and reinstalled it and it does the same thing. I have a big event on newyears eve. Please help!!!

    • To troubleshoot, I’d suggest turning off any automated sharing features, and setting your camera to shoot small or medium JPEGs (and if you can submit a crash report that’d really help diagnose the issue!)

  7. Hi Greg

Is it possible to trigger the shutter with a button?
I would like to try to use the app on my OUYA without a touchscreen.

    • Yes, you can use a keyboard with the space button, a bluetooth camera trigger, or a USB foot pedal set to send the space key. You can also use the Remote companion app running on a phone.

  8. hi i just wanted to find out about the payment methods and options. firstly can i buy the app and use it as long as i want or its a monthly basis thing where i have to pay for use for a limited time?

    • You can use the basic features for free forever. If you want to unlock the pro features, it can be done on demand for $9.99 for a week (suitable for a single event with lots of time to test and set things up), or $24.99 for a monthly subscription

  9. Hello Greg,

since the last update i got some problems. After i take a picture and push the okay button, the software make a second picture of it in gallery.
You make one shot and get 2 same pictures. Can u help me please?

    Greetings Marco

  10. I have android 4.2.2 tablet but in play store it is saying your device is not compatible with thus version. Can i have a seperate link to download, i want test thus app fore my photobooth

    • If the play store is saying your tablet is incompatible, then it probably doesn’t have USB-OTG support, as that and the version number are the only restrictions.

  11. Hello I’m planning to use this app but have a few questions

    1. can i print via usb instead of wifi? I have the canon cp 910 and find its faster over usb as I connect my camera to tether to laptop and print from laptop

    2. whats the best tablet to use?

    3. are all the photos saved on the tablet

    thank you

    • Some printers can work over USB if they don’t require custom drivers, however the CP910 isn’t one of them. You can print to the CP910 directly over wifi without using a laptop however – just connect the printer to the same network as your tablet.
2 – There’s no “best” tablet, but for photobooth use I find it worthwhile to get spend a bit more to get a faster/larger one.
3 – Yes, the photos are saved on both the tablet and SD card

    • Load a custom template with no transparent areas – ie, take a photo you want to use as a background, convert it to a .png file, and load it on the template screen.

    • Hi Neil – You can unlock the pro features from within the app – they’re available for $9.99 usd for a single event, or a $24.99 per month subscription.

  12. Hello,

I bought the application, and it’s working good so far, but the only problem is that when I print on a 4×6 page the picture doesn’t scale to fit the page. I am using canon pixma g3400 over google cloud service. Any thoughts?
