create custom Green Screen templates for slr booth pro
using our online template editor
Select your background
You have the option of using one of the built-in backgrounds, using a solid colour, or dragging and dropping your own image. If you are using your own image, you’ll want to resize it to 1800 x 1200 before using.
Open the background tab by selecting the first button at the top of the control column.
When you’ve selected your background, close the window by pressing “X” on the screen.
select your placeholders and frames
The second icon in the control column will open a placeholder and frame tab. From here, you can decide how many photo placeholders your template will have, choosing from single, quad, filmstrip, or postcard styles.
Tip: you can change the default position of the placeholders by dragging them with your mouse, and change the size of them individually by scrolling with your mouse
The template will default to a frame thickness of 5, a frame colour of white, and no shadow. These are all options that you can control within the frame tab.
Add custom text
Open the custom text editor tab by selecting the “A+” button from the control column. You can manipulate the font, text fill, text stroke (outline), stroke size, and shadow size.
When you’re happy with your text, press the “add text” button at the bottom of the screen. Once your text has been added, you can move it around to ensure it is placed where you want it. To change the size of your text, scroll up or down with your mouse. To delete your text, double click on it.
overlays and stickers
To add custom overlays and stickers to your template, select the fourth icon from the top in the control column.
You can select a sticker by double clicking on it. You can then close the tab and move/size the sticker using the mouse (scroll up or down to size). To delete the sticker, simply double click on it.
Tip: You can add your own stickers or icons simply by dragging and dropping them from your computer onto the template. You can then size, move, and delete them as described above.
Please remember to ensure you’ve obtained the rights to use any images or backgrounds that you use in the template editor.
save your design + upload it to slr booth pro
When you are happy with your template, click on the “save” icon (floppy disk with pencil). Your file will automatically download to your computer.
The best way to get it to the app is to email it to yourself, open your email on the device you’ll be running SLR Booth Pro on, and save the attachment. It will go into your downloads folder by default.
To load the template into SLR Booth Pro, open the templates screen and select the plus (+) icon. You will be able to choose your template from the downloads folder. It is now ready for use in your photobooth!
green screen | Add a background image
We now will get into green-screen specific instructions. You’ll need to select an image that you will use as your background, which will replace the green in your booth setup. I’ve selected an image from a recent hike.
You’ll need to convert this image to a .png file, as .jpg files won’t currently work. You can resize it to 1800 x 1200 if you wish.
You’ll need to save this .png image on your tablet. Make sure you know where it is in the file system (it should default to the downloads folder).
open slr booth on your tablet and select the templates menu
You will see an option for Layout Templates and Green Screen Backgrounds. You will use the ADD FILE icon (bottom right) to select both your template file and your background file. SLR Booth will recognise which file is which and put them in the correct category.
When you select the ADD FILE icon, you’ll be taken to your tablet’s file system. You can select your green screen background file from the appropriate folder.
select your template and image
On the template screen, ensure that both your template and your background are selected. The green screen background will turn green when it’s been selected.
get your backdrop ready and start your photo shoot!
Once the green screen background is selected, SLR Booth will be looking for green to replace with your selected image.
